Fashion Slam: Xanadu Style Rules Again
First Released: October 11, 2011 3:57 PM EDT Credit: Access Hollywood Caption Access Hollywoods Anthony Ramos, Ryan Patterson, Cara Petry, Susan Moore and Joe Siyam celebrate in the Xanadu birthday bashLOS ANGELES, Calif. -- I visited probably the most awesome birthday celebration earlier this weekend it had been literally a great time in the past! My pal Joe switched 40 and celebrated having a Xanadu designed Disco Curler Party- only the seem of that's pretty great, right? Everything began using the invites, which incorporated a DVD from the Olivia Newton-John cult classic Xanadu, to inspire us for costume ideas. The truth is that- I didn't do too well within the costume department. I possibly could not think about almost anything to put on and merely attempted to become festive having a sparkly DVF jacket. If only I used to be more creative because there have been some incredible clothes there. It had been a ocean of metallic spandexwhich within this situation would be a positive thing! The birthday boy was outfitted inside a 70s whitened suita la Tony Manero in Saturday Evening Fever. Most of the women arrived flowy dresses with headbands as with the film, or perhaps in sleek 80s workout gear like Olivia used in her own Allows Get Physical music video. We showed up in the Moonlight Rollerway in Glendale where Xanadu had been forecasted on among the walls outdoors. I was welcomed using the odor of In-N-Out Hamburgers - a truck was available to ensure they are to order. Women in pink satin clothes (that have been replicas from Xanadus final scene) shipped the hamburgers to partygoers by skates, obviously. There have been Xanadu snacks, in addition to snacks the same shape as curler skates. The snack bar seemed to be open serving popcorn, chocolate, soda and then any other rink food you can want. Everybody accessorized with glow-in-the- dark bracelets and bracelets. We'd some laughs striking silly poses before a Xanadu designed backdrop and for photo booth style pix that people reached collect. However the most fun was the skating. I am not fueling when I only say I havent skated in DECADESand it demonstrated! I had been really rusty in the beginning, however i got at ease with it. I did not wish to leave the ground and spent almost the whole evening skating. My pal James, who rocked the 70s together with his shorts, tube socks and huge shades, stored skating as much as me and saying, Are you currently living at this time, or what? I stated, I'm not only living, I'm winning! As though it was not fun enough to bop and skate to any or all that old disco hits (Hello Bad Women!), there is also an Olivia Newton-John artist who sang and danced to Allows Get Physical and also the theme from Xanadu. (That We still keep singing during my headNow that people are here, Xanadu, Xan-a-du-oo-oo.) It had been crazy just how much planning went into this partyEvery single detail, lower towards the free tokens for that game titles, was perfect. Happy Birthday, Joe!
